Food and beverage manufacturers, processors, packers, distributors, importers and agribusiness supplying Australian retailers and export markets.
Why food & beverage businesses get certified
In food and beverage, one supplier requirement can decide whether you keep a contract: proof that your food safety is systematically controlled. Major retailers, distributors and export markets increasingly expect a recognised food safety management system. IMSM builds ISO 22000 — and the ISO 9001 quality system that often sits with it — around your actual process, from receiving to dispatch, so a customer's food-safety requirement becomes something you already meet.
Meet retailer & buyer requirements
Large retailers, distributors and food-service buyers commonly require a recognised food safety management system before they'll list or keep your product.
Open export markets
Overseas buyers and importers often expect internationally recognised food safety certification. It's frequently what makes an export conversation possible in the first place.
Control food safety risk end to end
ISO 22000 builds hazard analysis and controls into how you actually operate — from receiving raw materials to dispatch — reducing the risk of a recall or contamination event.
Protect your brand
A single food safety failure can undo years of brand-building. A certified system is both prevention and evidence of due diligence.
Which ISO standards you're likely to need
Most food & beverage clients need a combination, not just one. Here's the stack we typically build — tell us your situation and we'll confirm exactly which ones your tenders and customers are asking for.
Need more than one? We build multiple standards as a single integrated system — one fixed fee, one system to run afterwards.

Food & Beverage, common questions
Is ISO 22000 the same as HACCP?+
They're related but not identical. HACCP is the hazard-analysis methodology; ISO 22000 is a full food safety management system that builds HACCP principles into a certifiable, auditable system covering your whole operation. Many buyers now expect the management-system-level assurance ISO 22000 provides.
Should we get ISO 22000, ISO 9001, or both?+
It depends what your buyers ask for. ISO 22000 covers food safety specifically; ISO 9001 covers overall quality and consistency. Many food and beverage businesses hold both, built together as one system. Tell us who you supply and we'll advise which you actually need.
We're a small producer — is certification realistic?+
Yes. The system scales to the size and complexity of your operation, and we do the build for you. For smaller producers it's often what unlocks a retailer listing or an export conversation that would otherwise be closed.
How much does food safety certification cost?+
It depends on the size of your operation and which standards you need. You get a single fixed fee covering gap analysis, documentation, consultancy and the certification audit, agreed upfront with no hourly billing. Tell us your headcount and we'll send an exact quote within 24 hours.
